確かに、テレビなどで無理矢理JR西日本を叩いてる感は否めないと思います。ボーリングだの飲み会だのってのは、確かに不適切ではあるけど、不適切のレベルとしては、こうもバシバシ叩くようなものでもないかもしれないし。自省すべきことを、あえて報道するのはマスコミの特性としてしょうがないのかなとも思いますが。
ところで、「置き石」と「時速133km」ですが、この2つに関してはやはり、JR西日本が発表したこと自体がまずかったと思います。特に「時速133km」。
「理論上、時速133kmで曲がりきれずに（＝遠心力で）脱線する可能性がある」と報道を見たら、高校で物理を取ったような人なら、重さは？と疑問を抱くんじゃないかと思います。結局、誰も乗っていない状態での限界が時速133kmでした。
遠心力というか、曲がりきれなさは速度にも依存しますが、重さにも依存します。
つまり、「理論上、時速133kmで曲がりきれずに脱線する可能性がある」
という説明がそもそも意味を成していません。まあ、マスコミも記者会見の場で聞き返せよって感じですが。高校物理分かる記者が一人もいなかったのかと。
ところで、運転手がそれを理解していなかったら、すごく怖いですね。「ここは133km/hまで大丈夫だから、多少制限オーバーしてもＯＫさー」とか。
