小学生の４割が天動説を信じている（？）そうです。まぁ、実際そう見えるわけだから知る機会がなかったら、そう思っててもしょうがないんですが、しかし小学校高学年まで地球が太陽の周りを回っていると知る機会が全く無いんでしょうか。。
自分が地球が太陽を回っているって知ったのはいつだろうと考えてみると、小学校高学年時には確実に知っていましたが、それ以前に「地球が太陽の周りをまわっている！？そうだったのか！」と衝撃を受けたような記憶はないです。いつ知ったんだろう？自然に知っていた？天才？（笑）
漫画、映画、NHKの教育テレビ、学校の授業……そういうことを（わざわざ学ぶ場を設けなくても）自然と知る機会はいろいろあると思いますけどね。今時の小学生は日頃何をして過ごしているんでしょ？？教育テレビとか見ないの？？おもしろいのに。
他の知る機会を逃しても、こういうことを確実に学ぶことができるのは学校の授業だと思うのですが、それもダメだったらしい。理由は学習指導要領で定められてなかったから。教科書に書いてある内容だけを淡々と教える先生があまりにも多いことの現れでしょうか。
